1st Commis

The 1st Commis is responsible for ingredient preparation, cooking dishes according to recipes, and assisting senior chefs in their duties. A significant part of the role involves maintaining high food quality and strictly adhering to kitchen sanitation and safety standards.

Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare ingredients for dishes, including cutting, marinating, and other pre-processing tasks.
  2. Cook simple dishes and side dishes under the guidance of senior chefs.
  3. Maintain cleanliness and order in the workplace, adhering to hygiene standards.
  4. Assist the Sous Chef and Chef de Partie in carrying out their kitchen duties.
  5. Participate in product inventory and ensure adequate supply.
  6. Sort and store food items in accordance with established standards.
  7. Set up and maintain workstations and kitchen equipment in working condition.
  8. Conduct daily checks of kitchen equipment, ensuring cleanliness and proper function.
  9. Participate in basic maintenance and cleaning of kitchen equipment to prevent malfunctions and prolong equipment lifespan.

Qualifications:

  1. Basic culinary education or professional qualification in culinary arts.
  2. Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a high-end restaurant or on a cruise ship.
  3. Proficiency in English at B1 level or higher; knowledge of additional languages is an advantage.

  1. Setting tables, including preparing tablecloths, dishes, cutlery, and glasses.
  2. Managing reservations, welcoming passengers, and escorting them to their tables.
  3. Presenting the menu, recommending dishes, and answering passengers’ questions about ingredients and preparation methods.
  4. Checking passengers’ IDs before serving alcoholic beverages to confirm age.

Responsibilities:

  1. Daily cleaning of public areas, corridors, and cabins, including vacuuming, mopping floors, dusting, and cleaning bathrooms.
  2. Changing bed linens and towels in passenger cabins.
  3. Restocking toiletries, beverages, and other necessary items in cabins.
  4. Maintaining cleanliness and order in corridors and public areas of the ship.
  5. Interacting with passengers to fulfill their requests and provide necessary information.
  6. Reporting any malfunctions or repair needs in public areas or cabins to senior staff.

Qualifications:

  1. Previous experience in a similar position in a hotel, cruise ship, or hospitality industry is preferred.
  2. Proficiency in English at A2 level or higher.
